Alumni Night
We are planning a giant Alumni Night celebration for Mr. and Mrs. Reinhart, who turned 82 this year. This years show is “Les Miz the School edition” brings RSMT back to their roots using a cast full of students. The only way to do Les Miserable right now is the student version with no release date in site for adults to perform this we decided this would be the year to do it. After watching Merrillville’s amazing cast pull off an un abridged un changed score of Phantom and seeing some other high school do some wonderful things we knew we could find a cast that would uphold the quality of RSMT. JJR said if he were to do Phantom this summer (not available for community theatres now) he is not sure he would find many if any adults that would do a better job. The student version of Les Miz means some of the keys were changed to make it a little easier and some some songs shortened a bit but no songs cut. I’ve seen the touring cast 4 time and the student version last year and didn’t notice any thing different content wise. And as always this production will include incredible design elements from the RSMT crew. To see what a ROSS/ STUDENT SHOW means check out these videos. Ross staff and crew designed and implement and or helped the students implement all the technical aspects of this show .

Here are some comments from some of our regular RSMT audience members that came to see the show:
I thought it was wonderful! I kept forgetting I was watching HS production Congrats!
Incredible! So glad we didn't miss it!
Talent, teamwork, and tenacity: All those connected with MHS’s Phantom of the Opera have reason to be proud. Merrillville High School’s version of Lloyd-Webber’s opus is a phenomenal undertaking, a wonderful evening of art, and evidence of well-formed educational methods, a collaborative culture and of a talented community. Bravo!
What a fantastic show!!! A must see, pass the word.
This show is a MUST SEE! The exceptional orchestra, sets, costumes and directing are only exceeded by the incredible talent on that stage. If you close your eyes you would swear it's the national tour.
These kids are OUTSTANDING!! It lef...t me speechless which is something that rarely happens. Congrats to the entire cast, crew and production team. Anyone reading this MUST see this show tomorrow!
